Lack of political action on the climate emergency can lead people to feel fatalistic. Generation Z especially can feel they have been born “after the end” to borrow James Berger’s phraseology. In a generational sense especially, it is often difficult to think about what to do when it already feels too late — that all of the actions that should have been taken by generations were not taken. Most infuriating, is that the older generations seem pretty content shouldering Generation Z with climate collapse. Languishing in this fatalism has led some to conclude climate collapse is the inevitable result of “human nature.” In this episode, a Generation Z roundtable will tackle this pervasive and most destructive of ideas.
